Dyslexia: Catch Early. Support Strongly.
Welcome to World Dyslexia Awareness Month 2026! All October, MDA is celebrating every kind of brain, with games, webinars, contests and a big Go Red day.
Start exploringWorld Dyslexia Awareness Month (WDAM) is observed every October to increase understanding of dyslexia, challenge misconceptions, promote early identification and appropriate support, and recognise the experiences and strengths of people with dyslexia.
For WDAM 2026, MDA has chosen the theme “Dyslexia: Catch Early. Support Strongly.”, focusing on the importance of recognising dyslexia early, and providing the right support at the right time. The theme also creates space to consider what happens when early identification does not occur, including the experiences of children, young people and adults who discover their dyslexia later in life. Throughout the month, MDA will explore how greater awareness can lead to earlier recognition, stronger support, and more inclusive outcomes.

Get creative and help spread awareness about dyslexia through art and design.

Can your class crack the codes and escape? The escape room is a team game where puzzles show what reading can feel like with dyslexia. Kids work together, and teachers get a chance to talk about empathy. Download the guide with clues, instructions and a facilitator's checklist. Run it in class or at an assembly.

Stay connected with WDAM updates, stories, activities, and awareness content throughout October.
