This online Foundation Course offers a modular learning experience across six key areas of Specific Learning Disorders. The course uses innovative ‘Learning Circles’—a digital, collaborative platform for peer learning and expert guidance.
Participants engage in live, interactive (synchronous) sessions and self-paced (asynchronous) activities, including reading materials, discussions, case studies, and quizzes. The course emphasizes real-time problem-solving with expert facilitators guiding participants through teaching challenges.
To qualify for the Dyslexia Teaching/Therapy Programme, participants must successfully complete all six modules of the Foundation Course:
Upon completion of the modules and assignments, participants will receive a participation certificate. To earn the Certificate of Successful Completion, participants must pass the final examination. This certificate, along with a Bachelor’s degree, qualifies candidates for the Dyslexia Teaching Programme.
In collaboration with Ms. Sandra Dillon, this certification requires 200 hours of hands-on teaching. Training is conducted online, with 6 days of in-person training at MDA’s Dadar East Centre. Upon completion, candidates can appear for the Certified Academic Language Practitioner (CALP) exam and certification as a Structured Literacy/Dyslexia Interventionist (SLDI) by CERI and IDA.
