PROVISIONS AT THE CLASS XII EXAMINATIONS CONDUCTED BY THE MAHARASHTRA STATE BOARD OF SECONDARY AND HIGHER SECONDARY EXAMINATION SINCE 1998

Extra Time: One Hour

  1. Option of Vocational subjects instead of second language

  2. Reader and Writer

  3. Calculator for Math in all Streams & Book-Keeping and Accountancy, Commerce Stream

  4. 20 grace marks in one or more subjects

  5. Condoning of Spelling Errors and Number Reversals

How to apply for provisions – •A Certificate is required from the Govt. Surgeon General in Mumbai. •Certificate can be obtained from the LD Clinics of LTMG Hospital, Sion, B.Y.L.Nair Hospital and K.E.M. Hospital, Mumbai and Sassoon Hospital, Pune.

Although the legislation exists, these provisions are not yet accessible to students outside Mumbai city, as the other State Examination Boards have not yet put in place a procedure to extend them.

The State Government, Education Authorities and all Schools in the State of Maharashtra having affiliation with any of the Boards viz., Secondary School Certificate Board (SSC), Indian Council of Secondary Education (ICSE) and Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE) shall abide by the said Scheme in relation to the students with learning disabilities. The schools in the State of Maharashtra are also directed to abide by the circulars issued by the State Government from time-to-time not inconsistent with the Scheme ‘X’ approved by us today. The disobedience or non-compliance of the Scheme in relation to the students with learning disabilities by any of the schools in the State of Maharashtra shall be treated as disobedience of the order of this Court and they shall be proceeded with accordingly.
