Mrs Kate Currawalla was invited as a speaker at the “Natural Language Technologies for Inclusive Education” workshop organised by Amrita University at the Symposium on “Computational Linguistics and Inclusive Education”. The event brought together experts from various fields, including computer science, linguistics, psychology, AI, and disability studies, to explore the potential of NLP technologies for persons with disabilities.
She also made a presentation on the challenges faced by students with dyslexia in higher education and some policy recommendations to alleviate those challenges at Xavier’s Resource Centre for the Visually Challenged (XRCVC), St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai.
