Reading fluently underpins all academic activity and is the strongest predictor of academic success for most students. Children learn to read through the Primary years and subsequently read to access information on science, social studies, economics....... Yet, School Teachers receive little training in the teaching of reading beyond phonics and there are few, if any, courses at the University level to train reading specialists or reading instructors.
Following the overwhelming response to READ 2011, 2012 & 2013, this workshop will focus on building students’ comprehension and writing skills, offering a range of new strategies for building competencies in the general classroom as well as intervention for those who struggle to acquire these crucial skills .More details on EVENTS Page.
